Billing Specialist
Position Title
Behavioral Health Billing Specialist (Part-Time: approximately 18-22hrs/per week).

Prior Experience
The ideal candidate has prior experience in computer-based behavioral health billing (including insurance claim submission and payment collection). Madison Neuropsychological Services uses Office Ally as the billing clearing house (an EHR platform); although not required, the ideal candidate would have prior experience working with this program.
Position Description
To assist the MNS clinicians in claims submission and payment collection, Madison Neuropsychological Services, LLC (MNS) is seeking a behavioral health billing specialist. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented; possesses strong computer skills; has excellent time-management skills; and can work collaboratively with our of clinicians & staff.
This is a W2 position within a group private-practice structure.
This position offers hourly compensation based on prior experience (expected pay range: $20-22/per hour).
Madison Neuropsychological Services is located within a large medically orientated office building on the west-side of Madison, conveniently located just off of Mineral Point Road, near highway 12/18 (the Madison Beltline). The facility has ample on-site parking as well as other amenities (newly renovated restrooms, large conference room, staff lunch/break room).

Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and submit insurance in-network claims to Quartz HMO, SSM HMO, Medicaid, Medicare.
o MNS submits claims for neuropsychological evaluations & outpatient therapy services.
Follow up on unpaid claims, addressing denials and resolving billing issues.
Show a strong ability to multi-task in a high-volume, fast-paced lifespan clinical practice.
Manage spreadsheets for weekly claim submissions and payment reports for MNS clinicians (x5).
Prepare/send monthly billing statements for patient payments and manage payment submission via portal.
Maintain current on behavioral health insurance policies/regulations & reimbursement processes.
Communicate effectively with patients, MNS clinicians, & insurance companies regarding billing inquiries.
Provide detailed month-end reporting information for the MNS bookkeeping team.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.

Ability to create your own hybrid schedule (with flexibility in-office & remote daytime working hours).
Use of HIPAA-compliant email, faxing, and phone services.
The MNS billing specialist will have access to Practice Q (MNS EHR) and Office Ally (Clearing house).
Full use of a renovated and furnished office space within a serene and welcoming atmosphere.
Holiday pay is provided for all MNS employees in addition to hourly salary.
MNS part-time employees are eligible for 401K contribution-matching through MNS (after 1 year of employment).
Required Qualifications
Applicant MUST have a minimum of a 2-year college degree (within a healthcare or business-related fields).
Have a familiarity with ICD-10, Behavioral Health CPT codes, and insurance claims processes.
Hold excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and billing procedures.
Must be willing to complete a background check.
A minimum of a one-year commitment to MNS is strongly preferred.
